Corrosion Control
In conjunction with good monitoring, the Nalco Water Intercept programme can reduce or eliminate corrosion and the resultant fouling and foaming. This, in turn, helps improve amine unit reliability and efficiency, extend run lengths, increase throughput and maximise energy efficiency. The overall result is a reduction in the refinery's TCO and a significant improvement in Return on Investment (ROI).
Foam Control
Foaming in an amine unit can reduce adsorption and/or stripping efficiencies and compromise the optimum performance of the unit. Foaming is typically a symptom of other significant process problems such as corrosion, hydrocarbon contamination and other upstream influences. Nalco Water antifoams are used to address immediate operational issues while the root causes are addressed, allowing the unit to maintain throughput and operational efficiencies. Antifoams are used on a continuous or intermittent basis and do not interfere with unit operations.
